“I first came across A-Glaze when I was captain of a 47-meter Feadship about ten years ago. The topsides aft of the below water exhausts had gone flat and by applying A-Glaze not only did the paint regain much of its lustre but it made it possible for the crew to clean the yacht to an acceptable level.

Since that time I have used this system on other projects with similarly impressive results on old tired paint.

After seeing the benefits from these projects with the rejuvenation of older paint I then enquired about application to a new paint system.

I had A-Glaze apply their product to the full new paint onboard the 72-meter motor yacht Kogo. The results were spectacular and as much of the topsides were in a dark metallic finish the A-Glaze added to the shine. In addition the protective layer also ensured that any water hitting it would bead and run off the paintwork. This meant that the deck crew did not have to squeegee off the excess water meaning that the finish was streak free which saved a great deal of time during wash-downs.

I estimate that by using A-Glaze it extended the paint by approximately two years. Therefore it is a very cost effective product that improved the look of the paint and extended its life.

I would have no hesitation in using this product again or recommending it to other yachts.”

“Where to start with RMP? I first met David and Martin back in 2011 whilst working onboard M/Y Fountainhead, the one with all the windows. They first came onboard to do a few sample pieces of our stainless and after 6 months we were totally sold on their A-Glazing product. “We enlisted the services of RMP Marine to remedy an issue with the inboard black on the super structure. The surface was finished in Super Jet-Black AWL Grip G-Line with a clear coat finish (polyurethane). Over the years the clear coat had suffered multiple minor scratching and the black had lost some of its depth and lustre giving way to a hologram affect.

Due to the molecular composition of Polyurethane and the location of the paint surface (exposed to the elements of sun and sea water) we were reluctant to polish initially, which would have inevitable created a situation that required constant care and attention as time progressed. After consulting with RMP Marine they were confident they could lightly polish the clear coat to remove the minor scratching without damaging the coating system further and apply a long-lasting polymer.

RMP Marine completed both sides of the super structure with positive results, eliminating the majority of the scratches. The Polymer revitalised the black and brought back the richness of the colour. We prolonged the coating system with an RMP Marine product called SMR. The inboard black continued to present well for the following 2 seasons (after following RMP care instructions) up until the vessel was sold. To the best of my knowledge the super structure has yet to be painted.”
